We recently found a fun site to record and share baby progress. We're going to post Jake's growth and milestone here from now on: http://babywhitehead.mybabyourbaby.com/
It's a password protected site so I'll send an email for access to you.
This blog is created to keep our friends and families up to date on our life as well as to journal our experiences as parents to our son and daughter as they grow.

4 months 4 weeks
It's been awhile since I last updated the blog. We've had quite a busy month. We decided to sell our current house and are in the process of purchasing a new place. The whole process has been stressful. During an inspection on our current house, they found mold in our attic. Concerned with Jake's health, we decided to stay with our friends while we get the mold issue looked at further and got an air quality checked. Our friends were so gracious with letting us stay with them for a week. It was an adjustment for us especially the first night. We thought rather than bringing Jake's bassinet, we would co-sleep with him. We haven't co-sleep with Jake since he was 6 weeks old. It was a restless night -- I got zero sleep as Jake kept waking up. We ended up bringing the bassinet and he slept fine after that.
We are back in our house again as the air checked out fine. The mold is being fixed this week.
Now as for Jake's progress -- he has been working on rolling over. We are not quite there yet. He managed to roll over from his side to his belly once but that's about it.
Breastfeeding has been challenging again. Jake gets distracted easily now which makes feeding difficult and at times painful.
I think that's why I've been having dreams about Jake's teething. It's a scary thought...

Jake at Play
In an attempt to help Jake strengthen his head control and prevent his head from getting any flatter, I finally took out the Excersaucer that we got from our friend and put him in it for activity time. It's a new experience for him and he seems to enjoy himself. He's still a bit too little for it so I put some layer of blankets under his feet for more support.

Finger Sucking
Jake turned 3 months old a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing how much he has progressed already. We think he is teething too -- he loves sucking on his daddy's finger as well as his own fist.

Jake was born with a full set of hair but he seems to be losing his birth hair and growing new ones. So now he looks funny with patches of bald spots. I am tempted on trimming his hair so it looks more even.

First Smile!
Last week while we were at Target, Jake smiled and giggled for the first time. He smiled in the past but usually while he was asleep so we know it's just reflex. This time it's different. Now, he is smiling more and more, especially when we are playing or talking to him. His favorite activity is to "stand" on our lap. He always get really excited about it. It's funny because he doesn't have strong head control yet but his legs are strong.

Jake has a few other major milestones this month -- his ability to bat at objects with his hands, his discovery of his hands and sucking on them, being able to lift his head up during tummy time and recognizing our voice.
